Marisa Jakab is an experienced and qualified psychodynamic psychotherapeutic counsellor, with more than 5 years experience of working within the mental health field in a variety of different settings (HE, EAP and private). She is a registered member of the BACP and PCSR (Psychotherapists and Counsellors for Social Responsibility).

In Marisa’s experience, counselling can be a great and helpful way to support individuals through challenging periods; often through engaging with the sessions people emerge with a deeper understanding of & connection to themselves as well as more resilient and centred. Part of her approach entails becoming (more) aware of or gaining a new perspective on responses one may have developed unconsciously to navigate earlier life situations/circumstances. She works with her clients to gently uncover the psychological roots of their feelings/thoughts that may be hidden from their immediate awareness.

Marisa is trained to work with unconscious material and aims at providing an integrated, collaborative and trauma-informed way of working. She offers a confidential, warm and collaborative space to begin one’s journey of self-discovery.
