Toni Denton is a trained and qualified counsellor and a registered member of the BACP-she is currently studying at university to gain a top-up degree. Toni works as an integrative counsellor keeping person-centred counselling at the heart of her practice. Toni feels that a client has the ability to grow if the conditions are right. Her job is to help untangle what is going on and empower the client to decide ‘what next.
Toni works with a few EAP companies and she also works at Touchstone- which is a mental health charity. She works with a diverse caseload of clients- a lot of these clients have been turned away from mainstream services as they are seen as ‘too risky!’. Toni works together with clients to set goals to aim towards and helps them to achieve those goals.
Toni has volunteered at a local crisis helpline- helping clients express and talk through how they are feeling. She has also volunteered at the SHOUT text line- helping clients in their moment of crisis and setting up a safety plan to empower them to keep themselves safe.
Toni is early on in her research at the moment- but she is writing a dissertation around ADHD- personal experiences have given her an interest in this area. Toni has worked with clients who are neurodiverse.
She has experience working with grief, childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, personality disorder, gender identity, relationship problems, anger, abuse, work stress.

I feel that my values align with RTN. I like how clients have a choice from the outset; as for me, this is where the counselling journey begins. The team that I have come into contact with so far seem warm and welcoming.
