Dr Ann Steele, Clinical Psychologist, BSc Hons (First Class), MSc Oxon, DPhil Oxon, DClinPsy

 

Ann is a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience working in the NHS and in independent practice. During this time Ann’s experience has ranged from working therapeutically with people with complex mental health needs on randomised control research trials to providing psychological assessment and treatment to people with long-term neurological conditions in physical health services. Ann also provides teaching and supervision to other mental health professionals training within the NHS.

Specialist Interests

​

Following her PhD at Oxford University where her research explored neurodiversity and cognitive development in children, Ann continues to have a strong interest in neurodiversity and provides assessments of ASD and ADHD.

Ann also has specialist experience working with people with PTSD, psychosis, and bipolar disorder. Her primary expertise is in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with which she has also treated anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), issues with anger, and low self-esteem amongst other difficulties.

In addition, Ann is trained in other psychological therapy approaches including Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Systemic and Family Therapies, and Voice Dialoguing.
